Former EurSafe Executive Board Treasurer receives an Award of Merit for Scientific Understanding 2012

EurSafe´s former treasurer, Professor Jos Metz has received the Award of Merit for Scientific Understanding from the European Society of Agricultural Engineers (EurAgEng) in Valencia on 10 July 2012. The emeritus professor of Wageningen University received the award for his entire scientific oeuvre. The prize is the highest of this organization and consists of a bronze figurine titled ‘Earth, Man, Tool and Sky’.

Jos Metz was Professor of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Wageningen University and has been referred to as the founding father of Precision Livestock Farming. From 2004 till 2010 he has been treasurer of the Executive Committee of EurSafe. EurSafe is delighted for Professor Metz as this recognises the national and international relevance of his research.
